Hermine Reiss geb. Lang
HERMINE REIS GEB.LANG was born on October 26, 1882 in Konstanz (also possible Kronstadt). She lived in Freiburg with her husband, the lawyer ERNST DAVID REIS 236, from 1935 to 1940 at what was then Bismarckstrasse 15 (today Stefan-Meier¬Strasse 15).
Since 1939, her sister ELSA LANG 137 had also lived with them. All three were arrested on October 22, 1940, the day of the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles, along with more than 350 other Freiburg residents because of their Jewish faith, and deported to the Gurs internment camp/concentration camp in southern France.
After almost two years in this unimaginably terrible camp, HERMINE REIS was taken to the Drancy concentration camp near Paris.
On August 12, 1942, HERMINE REIS, together with her husband but without her sister, was deported to the Auschwitz concentration camp with convoy no. 18. Hermine Reis was murdered in the gas chambers of Auschwitz-Birkenau at the age of 59.

On August 12, 1942, HERMINE REIS, together with her husband but without her sister, was further deported to the Auschwitz concentration camp on convoy No. 18. Hermine Reis was murdered in the gas chambers of Auschwitz-Birkenau, 59 years old.
