CARLA LINDEMANN was born on June 13, 1889 (possible year of birth also 1881) in Würzburg as Carla (also Carola) GOMBRICH. She is not mentioned in the Freiburg residents‘ registers from 1933 to 1940, as was usual for wives at the time. At that time, only the heads of household were listed. Her name first appears on the deportation list to Gurs (list of Jews expelled from Baden on October 22, 1940, source 3). She is listed as number 615 in this list. She probably had the opportunity to leave the Gurs camp – when it was under the jurisdiction of the prefect. She died on May 24, 1942 in Toulouse, (61 or) 53 years old.
